Knowledge about diamond saw blades

What is a diamond saw blade

Diamond saw blade is a widely used tool for cutting and processing hard and brittle materials such as stone, concrete and ceramics. Its structure is mainly composed of two parts: matrix and segment. The matrix is the main supporting part of the bonded segments.

What are the classifications of diamond saw blades

According to the different processing techniques of diamond saw blades, they are generally divided into sintered diamond saw blades (divided into cold-pressure sintered saw blades and hot-pressure sintered saw blades, which are made by pressing and sintering). , Welded diamond saw blades (divided into brazing and laser welding two kinds), electroplated diamond saw blades (the segment powder through electroplating method attached to the substrate).

At present, the production of electroplated diamond saw blades is gradually reduced, mainly due to the serious pollution caused by the production process.

How to choose the right diamond saw blade

When we choose diamond saw blades, we must go to a reliable diamond saw blade manufacturer to choose, so that the quality is more guaranteed.

Then we should pay attention to the level of choice of saw blade, the same brand saw blade are classified grade, from the tooth shape, broken material, then recommended to use the left and right flat this tooth shape, or ladder flat teeth, if it is cutting boards to open the material, it is recommended to use the left and right teeth, so that it will open the material faster, if it is slotting with, available flat teeth slotted out of the bottom of the groove is flat. From the number of teeth, the denser the number of teeth, the smoother the cutting surface, but the slower the cutting speed, the thinner the number of teeth, the rougher the cutting surface, but the faster the cutting speed.

Diamond saw blade steel plate to achieve a certain hardness, to prevent high-speed operation when the shape, the tooth surface should be flat, to ensure that the saw road and tooth width close to the alloy tooth material to be hard, and welded solid, so as to avoid in the application of alloy teeth off, resulting in safety hazards.

In the use of different materials need to be based on different kinds of diamond saw blades, different diamond powder formula for different material characteristics.

How to maintain the diamond saw blades?

1. When the cutting surface of diamond saw blade is rough and no longer sharp, it must be resharpened in time. Pay attention to repair grinding can not change the angle, and destroy the dynamic balance.

2. Diamond saw blade inner diameter correction, positioning hole processing, etc., must be carried out by the factory. If the processing is poor, it will affect the use of the product effect, and may be dangerous, reaming in principle can not exceed the original hole diameter of 20mm, so as not to affect the balance of stress.

3. If the diamond saw blade is not used immediately, it should be put flat or use the inner hole to hang it up, the flat diamond saw blade can’t be stacked with other items or stepped on, and should pay attention to moisture-proof, anti-rust corrosion.

Common problems in the use of saw blades and their causes and solutions

1. Wear and tear of the base body and the combined part of the segment.

Cause: The material to be cut is very wear-resistant, and cutting debris is trapped in the cutting seam and cannot be discharged.

Solution: The use of protective teeth at special locations on the substrate and the use of a cooling water stream with higher pressure can enhance the chip removal effect.

2. Uneven wear on both sides of the segment

Reason: the saw blade is tilted to cut; the amount of water is not the same on both sides, and the amount of water on one of the sides is insufficient.

Solution: check the saw blade tilt; check the cooling water system.

3. Saw blade out of round

Reason: Wear of the shaft leads to large clearance between the centre hole of the saw blade and the main shaft or incorrect installation.

Solution: Replace the worn shaft or repair the centre hole.

4. Saw blade deflection

Reason: the cut material debris mixed in the cutting seam caused by the uneven force of the body; flange diameter is too small or the diameter of the flange on both sides is not the same; saw blade and flange mixed with foreign objects; not properly installed.

Solution: Clean up the debris and strengthen the effect of chip removal; adjust or replace the flange; install correctly according to the instructions.

5. Segment breakage

Cause: Segment bond is too hard; saw blade feed speed is too fast.

Solution: Choose a saw blade with a softer bond according to the material to be cut; reduce the feeding speed of the saw blade.

6. Segment wear too fast

Cause: Segment bond is too soft (for the material to be cut); insufficient cooling water; insufficient power due to loose drive belt or low voltage or inappropriate speed; saw blade is not perpendicular to the material to be cut.

Solution: Choose a saw blade with a harder bond according to the material being cut; check the cooling water system to make sure the pump is working properly; make sure the supply voltage is correct; check the spindle flange to make sure that the saw blade is perpendicular to the equipment; check the speed of the saw blade.

7. Segment loss

Causes: Segment twisted off by sliding of cut material during cutting process; Segment subjected to heavy impact; Worn flange cannot hold saw blade, resulting in twisting of saw blade; Out-of-round saw blade due to spindle wear causes large impact on saw blade; Overheating; Saw blade subjected to violent impact.

Solution: Firmly fix the material to be cut when cutting; replace the flanges on both sides; replace the worn spindle; check the cooling water; avoid hitting the saw blade when moving the equipment or the material to be cut.

8. Blunt, can not cut

Reason: the bond of the saw blade is too hard; the power is not enough to make the saw blade cut properly, the saw blade is not applied enough cutting pressure; the line speed of the saw blade is too high.

Solution: Choose a saw blade with a softer bond; check the drive belt, voltage and motor; make sure that sufficient and not excessive penetration pressure is being used; select the appropriate match according to the equipment’s manual.
